About Cussing
What a strange topic, huh?
I agree.
This is kind of an unusual topic to talk about, but hey, it’s a topic and for me, it’s an important one to address because… well… as you might have noticed, I sometimes cuss.
And in case you haven’t noticed, I will tell you right now that, yes, EMG cusses. Right here on the website(s) in fact.
Not in the WordPress (and elsewhere) Support Forums, not in phone, email, or IM correspondences to my clients, not in front of small children, not in front of people whom I know are cussing-sensitive but here on my own personal website?
Yes, I do sometimes cuss.
I’m not exactly the best at trying to explain myself at times, but here goes:
Look, in a professional setting and around small children and around people whom I know are cussing-sensitive, I (normally) don’t cuss. If something really really bad happens, I might let out a “Damn!” but that’s about it.
Cussing isn’t professional and it isn’t appropriate for young ears and too much cussing can equate to “Is that the extent of your vocabulary?”
But this is my website and the EMG that’s behind all of this and the EMG to whom this website is the ship, plane, and submarine to does cuss in real life.
I’m as human as anyone else is and sometimes, nothing feels better than letting out a really loud and emphatic explicative.
Going back to the whole ship, plane, and submarine bit, Emotiomental Graffiti was conceptualized and designed to be an honest online representation of myself and one of my core beliefs is to be true to oneself.
Being that a part of myself is the human portion that sometimes needs to go ARGH! and cuss, I decided to leave in my cussing.
I don’t cuss because it’s cool. I don’t cuss because I have no other words to say. I don’t cuss because that’s the depth of my vocabulary. I don’t cuss because I’m some ‘bad person’. I don’t cuss because I came from a ‘ghetto’.
I cuss because something hurts. Because -I- hurt. Because something really is wrong. Because I get really frustrated. Because something REALLY needs to be said and said hard and harshly. Because sometimes, you really need to tell people to “Fuck off!” and in those exact words.
But I don’t go around cussing for the hell of it.
And yes, I did intentionally write that last sentence that way.
