Afterthought: Maybe I should clone that Giving Props block and import a copy to the main site here…

I started noticing some strange layout loading problems on my sites.

Namely, these problems specifically involve my entire site loading approximately 25 to 50px vertically lower than it should.

The topbar main navigation should be hugging the top, right? And before I installed Google Analytics, it was. All the time. And then I installed Google Analytics and it wasn’t anymore – not consistently anyways.

So yeah.

After experimenting with some coding and doing some research, my conclusion is that because the Google Analytics is installed in the header of the page (meaning, it loads before any of my site contents do), its loading can sometimes interfere with the rendering of my website.

Sorry about that everyone!

Reloading the page always does the trick and resets the layout back to normal as the Analytics has already had a chance to load on the first load and therefore doesn’t and can’t interfere with the reload.

I will continue to investigate a way to solve this issue, but until then, I thought I would share a bit of news.

The newer version of the WordPress-specific AddThis coding (the one you can manually add to your posts that uses the php echo?) does NOT validate through W3C. It WORKS, but because of the ampersand and perhaps something else, W3C is going bonkers over it, offering up anywhere between 5 to 9 errors on account of it.

So if you visit the blog and validate it and see a million AddThis validation errors? That’s why.

And oh yes, the ‘Print’ functionality does not work for a single post if you have the AddThis coding enabled on say your main blog page where it appears multiple times – once on each post.

Instead of printing that one post, it will print the entire page – whooops!

I hope AddThis fixes that soon!

The Emotiomental Graffiti blog is now ready to GO LIVE!

Custom search and 404 pages have all been ironed out and 99.9% of the CSS tweaking that was left to be done at last update has now been completed.

What’s left is the background stuff that nobody’s going to run into more than likely, which I will finish cleaning up later.

But for now, the BLOG IS LIVE!

If anyone has visited my site in the last week, you might have noticed that it was sporadically offline or was giving error messages.

Sorry about that!

Due to situations beyond mine or my web host’s control, I am being switched to a new server (my old one was… well… too old?) and where I believe 99.9% of everything has switched over just fine, there might be a hiccup or three here and there as everything else gets sorted out and finalized.

I apologize for any difficulties or inconveniences anyone might experience between then and now and if any new developments should pop up, I’ll will let you know!

Hopefully everything will finish settling soon!

My RSS feed blocks (which happen to feed in content – update posts in particular – from each of my respective posting categories) are apparently all messed up.

In particular, my RSS feed block for my blog updates is messed up. Instead of showing three posts from my Blog Updates category, it’s showing the last three posts that I have posted, period.

The funny thing is, if you click on the RSS feed icon in the header, it links you to the right content, sooo…

What the hell gives, man?

That’s just all sorts of weird.

THIS is the last update for today.

The Emotiomental Graffiti blog is going to get a re-theme very soon and I believe that it will share the same theme as this portion of the site or a modified version of this theme.

Logically and in terms of continuity within the site, it makes the most sense, so… yeah.

This is the last update for today, I promise.

As you can well guess, the Storefront part of the website is not yet open for business.

The Storefront will be the last part of the Emotiomental Graffiti website to open (I intend to have the main section, blog, and portfolio all up and ready and fully functional before I turn my attention to the store) and when it does…

Mmmmm… I think that maybe I will leave the contents of the store unsaid.

Give everyone a surprise for the future, yeah?

At any rate, I will post more when the time draws nearer.

This update is to let everyone know that once the blog is re-themed and restructured, work will begin on the Portfolio section of the website.

I have a lot of additional material to add to my portfolio from the last time I posted it anywhere, so it’s going to be interesting to see how much I’ve grown (or not) since my last major portfolio update.

I will post more details once I get closer to being able to work on the Portfolio.

Though the Projects section of the website is not up yet (and probably won’t be up for a little while), I thought I’d let you all know that despite not having any of the content up, I do have projects in the works.

Once I get the main portion of the website along with the blog more stabilized, I will start work on the Portfolio and when I do, I will be working on the Projects section as well.

So stay tuned and I’ll post another update when things get going!
